Cookie Policy

Last Updated: March 12, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how avoryx (operated by Avoryx Learning GmbH) uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. This Cookie Policy supplements our Privacy Policy (/privacy-policy/), which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies, such as pixel tags and server-side event signals, to understand how our site is used and to measure marketing performance (only where permitted by your consent settings).

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by using the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer. You can also use your browser settings to block or delete cookies; however, some features of the site may not work correctly if essential cookies are blocked.

1. Cookie types we use

Cookies can be categorized in different ways:

  • Session cookies exist only for the duration of your browser session and are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
  • First-party cookies are set by our website.
  • Third-party cookies are set by other domains (for example, analytics or advertising providers) when enabled by your preferences.

We group cookies into three categories that match the consent choices shown in our cookie banner and cookie preferences modal: Essential, Analytics, and Marketing.

2. Cookie categories

A) Essential cookies (always active)

Essential cookies are necessary for the website to function. They support core features such as session continuity, security, and storing your cookie consent choice. These cookies do not require consent under most privacy frameworks because they are strictly necessary to provide the service you request (the website itself).

If you block essential cookies, the site may not function as intended, including the ability to remember consent choices.

B) Analytics cookies (consent required)

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site, which pages are visited, and how content performs. This helps us improve program pages, scheduling information, and the clarity of registration guidance. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymization features where available.

Analytics cookies are only activated after you opt in via the cookie banner or cookie preferences modal. If you later withdraw consent, analytics cookies are disabled and may be deleted where technically feasible.

Analytics data retention is typically configured for 14 months. Individual cookie lifetimes may differ and are listed in the table below.

C) Marketing cookies (consent required)

Marketing cookies and similar technologies are used to measure advertising performance and to show relevant offers to people who have visited our site. When enabled, they can support remarketing, conversion attribution, and audience creation (such as custom and lookalike audiences) on advertising platforms.

Marketing cookies are only activated after you opt in. If you do not consent, you can still use the site and request information via our contact forms, but ads you see elsewhere may be less relevant and conversion measurement will be limited.

3. Cookie table

The table below lists cookies commonly used by this site and by our analytics and advertising providers when the relevant category is enabled. Names and retention periods may change as providers update their technology, but categories and consent rules remain the same.

Name Purpose Category Type Retention
_site_session Site session continuity Essential First-party Session
cookie_consent Stores your consent choice Essential First-party 12 months
_ga GA4 user identifier Analytics Third-party 2 years
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX GA4 session state (10-char GA4 ID) Analytics Third-party 2 years
_gcl_au Google Ads conversion linker Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbp Meta Pixel browser identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel click identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days

The cookie name _ga_XXXXXXXXXX represents a GA4 property-specific cookie where the suffix is a 10-character identifier. The exact suffix can vary based on the GA4 configuration.

4. Third-party providers

Depending on your consent settings, we may use services from the following providers:

  • Google LLC (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, tag management and remarketing features when enabled).
  • Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel and related conversion measurement and audience tools when enabled).
  • Cloudflare (CDN and security services that may process IP-based signals for threat detection and performance).

We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes. They process information as our service providers or, where applicable, as separate controllers for their own platform operations. Please review our Privacy Policy for details about roles, legal bases, and transfer mechanisms.

5. Managing cookie preferences

You can manage cookies in several ways:

  • On this website: use the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer to open the cookie preference controls.
  • Browser settings: most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. If you delete cookies, you may need to reapply your preferences.
  • Provider controls: advertising and analytics providers offer additional controls for interest-based ads and measurement settings.

If you withdraw consent for Analytics or Marketing, we will stop using those categories for this browser and may delete related cookies where possible. Essential cookies remain active because they support the site’s basic operation and store your consent choice.

For additional controls, you may use common opt-out tools and preference centers such as: Google Analytics opt-out, Google Ads settings, Meta ad preferences, and Your Online Choices (EU).
